Ready for a dose of color? Today I’m sharing some fabulous kitchens with brave color choices. This designer used turquoise on the counter tops, island, flooring, ceiling, and interior of the cabinets. But with lots of bright white to counterbalance, it works. |

Inspiring Design: YMCA ShowHouse 2010

Last week, a new client told me about the YMCA ShowHouse in her Brentwood neighborhood. I always want to learn more about what the leading designers are doing in terms of color and trend. I spent several hours there later in the week identifying colors with my color analyzing tools (they didn’t share the paint colors with the public). It was $30 to tour, but it definitely gave me lots of design inspiration. |

Inspiring Design: IKEA and a New Prize Give-a-Way!

Last week I got to do a little shopping at the IKEA in Cincinatti. I bought some gifts for the ole gift closet and some staging props for my business. And a little something for one lucky reader. But we’ll talk about that later. First I want to share some of my favorite things I saw at IKEA. Like these cool bookcases. They are decorated with freestyle writing and doodling, and they come in 3 colors ($199 each). My daughter, Audrey was trying to talk me into getting them for her room. |

Inspiring Design: Sex and the City

OK, I haven’t seen the new movie and I am not condoning the moral code of any of the characters therein. That being said, everyone talks about how Sex and the City is all about the fashion. Well, the people involved in Sex and the City have some seriously inspiring interior design going on, as well. This is Carrie’s closet from her original apartment. Three words: to die for. |
